In 2012, Dr. Karen Zelaya-Kendall opened a solo outpatient private practice. In 2018, Dr. Zelaya-Kendall expanded her practice to hire other Licensed Therapists to be able to offer psychotherapy services to more people who need it.

Karen Zelaya-Kendall, Ph.D. and Associates, LLC is one of few practices in the Rittenhouse Square section of Philadelphia that accepts most major insurances.

Karen Zelaya-Kendall, Ph.D., Licensed, Clinical Psychologist



I received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. John's University in 2005, a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from St. John's University in 2001 and a B.A. in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans in 1997.


I was intensively trained in DBT by Behavioral Tech, LLC in 2007. I was trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for the treatment of PTSD by Elizabeth Hembree, Ph.D. of the University of Pennsylvania CTSA. I received a Certificate for training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders: Components of Care from Postpartum Support International (PSI). I am Credentialed with the National Register for Health Service Psychologists.


For over 20 years, I have completed psychological evaluations, provided individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and DBT to clients in outpatient, inpatient and residential treatment settings. I supervised and trained student and staff therapists. I was the DBT Team leader, who coordinated the DBT programs and trained staff to provide DBT at two hospitals in the Philadelphia area.


It has been a pleasure to have my own private psychotherapy practice since 2012. I am proud to be able to hire quality licensed therapists to provide psychotherapy, training, supervision and consultation services.


I am a Cognitive Behavioral therapist who focuses the beginning stages of treatment on helping my clients to use skills to improve their everyday functioning. I believe that helping people to understand themselves fully and working through the challenges and life events which influences their functioning is the overall goal of treatment. I am truly blessed and honored to able to work with people to help them improve their lives. 


I am passionate about training and supporting other clinicians to provide psychotherapy services. I have trained and supervised clinicians throughout my career.  I have also taught Psychology and Internship classes in Master's programs at the University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University.



Felice Schwartz MS.ED., M.ED., Licensed Professional Counselor



I received a MSED in Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University in 2007, a MED in Human Sexuality from Widener University in 2013. and a BA in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2007.


I feel one of my strengths is my ability to develop genuine and empathetic therapeutic relationships with my clients. I treat all clients on an individual basis, using models that work best for the client's situation.


I have experience in providing outpatient therapy to a variety of populations in outpatient, community mental health and drug and alcohol treatment settings.


I have provided therapy to individuals struggling with addiction and addictive behaviors, those who identify on the GLBT spectrum and who were experiencing sexual and gender identity issues, and individuals who have a history of trauma. I treated individuals who experienced domestic violence and sexual trauma while working as an Intern at Woman Organized Against Rape (WOAR). I treated individuals struggling with a variety of sexual issues and dysfunctions while working as a Post Graduate Intern at Council for Relationships.


I have experience providing therapy to people of color who were HIV+, helping them manage issues related to their sexuality, relationships, sexual and gender identity.



Jean Campbell, M.SS, Licensed Clinical Social Worker



I received my MSS from Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work and Social Research in 2013 and a BS in Business Administration and Social Work from Elizabethtown College. 


As a therapist, I take into account a person’s environment it is a part of the whole person and impacts one’s emotional, mental and physical well-being. Approaches I draw from include Relational, Person Centered, Trauma Informed, Culturally Sensitive, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused. I work collaboratively with you and invite your feedback regarding what is working and not working for you in our therapy sessions.


In community mental health, I provided outpatient therapy for individuals diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. I worked with people who have difficulty with anger management, a history of Trauma, childhood sexual abuse, addiction/substance abuse, domestic violence and adults with sleep issues. I have experience working with children and adolescents as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant, Mobile Therapist and Outpatient Therapist.


I endeavor to provide a warm, accepting, collaborative atmosphere for our sessions, it is important to me that you feel emotionally and physically safe when we work together. Effective therapy happens with a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. My strength is connecting with people and building that rapport. Therapy is about empowering you to be the person you want to be and to lead the life you want to lead.
